Becky Pfile is a 2019 graduate from UW-Milwaukee with a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Winona State in 2001. Becky was the library director at the Endeavor Public Library from 2014 to 2020. As a librarian, she enjoyed offering programs related to literacy, such as the summer reading program, computer software basics and beginner’s coding, and partnering with the local extension office to provide other youth programs during the summer. Becky left the Endeavor library to pursue an adult and teen services librarian position at the Ripon Public Library but finding the commute difficult to manage with a young family, Becky returned to Endeavor after a year to work at the Endeavor Elementary school as a teacher’s aide in the preschool and as a substitute teacher. Becky is also a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in natural resources management in Mali, West Africa. While in the Peace Corps, she taught fruit tree grafting, solar drying, soap making, and English. Becky is excited to join the U.W. Extension in Columbia County and looks forward to bringing her unique skill set to the program coordinator position.
